This program focuses on a broad overview of milestones from the last several centuries of music in the Latine U.S. as a way of understanding the history, roots, and concerns of Latines in this land, with a special emphasis on Latine populations that have profoundly marked the state of Illinois’ culture and music.
The presentation, paired with slides and musical samples, is lively and focused on participation, discussion, and exploration of complex topics through musical enjoyment!

Venue Parking and Accessibility
A small parking lot is available. The entrance is on Kedzie, south of the library. Do not park in the firefighter's lot. Public transportation: The 52 Kedzie Bus stops across the street from the library and the CTA Kedzie Pink Line stop is 0.3 mi from the library.
The library is ADA accessible, with no steps and accessible entrances and water fountains. Gender neutral bathrooms contain multiple stalls and are ADA accessible with baby changing tables.
