In the age of AI, the best way to stand out is by leaning into the most human of skills: telling stories. We are here today because our ancestors have told stories- whether warning others of danger or pointing towards resources. Over time, we have outsourced this essential skill to others- TV news hosts, social media influencers, and professional speakers. But storytelling is as needed today as it was during our cave-dwelling days. It helps us in making sense of the world around and within us, as well as in creating a shared mutual understanding across the various aisles.

Join five-time The Moth Story Slam champion Jitesh Jaggi as he teaches this workshop where we will write our own stories from scratch. Jitesh will guide the participants through a series of simple prompts and exercises that will walk the audience from a seedling of an idea to a fully-formed first draft. Participants will also learn tips on how to overcome social anxiety and other public speaking hurdles to be able to share their stories- whether on stage or with friends and family.

This event is Free and Open to the public. For more information, please contact Ginger Leopoldo at gleopoldo@bsachicago.org.
