A Reading by Illinois Poet Laureate Mark Turcotte featuring Natalie Giarratano and Beth Marzoni

Newly named as the 6th Illinois Poet Laureate, writer Mark Turcotte (Turtle Mountain Band Anishinaabe) is the author of several books, including The Feathered Heart and Exploding Chippewas. His work has appeared in many national and international literary journals and anthologies, including the new and first-ever Norton Anthology of Native Nations Poetry. His poem, “Dear New Blood,” was recently featured on the poetry podcast, Poetry Unbound

Natalie Giarratano is the author of Molecular Memory, published in April by Tram Editions, Big Thicket Blues (Sundress Publications, 2017), and Leaving Clean, winner of the 2013 Liam Rector First Book Prize in Poetry (Briery Creek Press). She was Fort Collins’s poet laureate 2018-2020.

Beth Marzoni is the author, with Monica Berlin, of No Shape Bends the River So Long, winner of the New Measures Poetry Prize (Parlor Press, 2015). She lives in Castle Rock.
