This presentation explores the musical recordings Louis Armstrong made as leader between 1925 and 1928 while living in Chicago.
This interactive presentation includes Canva slides and other projected media to help contextualize this foundational period in the development of jazz.
John plays actual period instruments during the presentation allowing the audience to gain further understanding of the special nuances relating to Armstrong’s performance.

Venue Parking and Accessibility
Parking is available in the library's West parking lot at the corner of Liberty Street and Fulton Street, with additional street parking nearby where permitted.
