The Galesburg Public Library kicks off its "2025 Community Read" series with a screening of In Their Hands, a documentary by Dan Protess. A talkback will follow the screening.

In Their Hands is the story of one man's fight for freedom and a peek behind the curtain at the politics of parole. Learn more about the film in this article by Ariel Parrella-Aureli.

Free copies of Correction: Parole, Prison, and the Possibility of Change by Ben Austen, a groundbreaking and honest investigation into the crisis of the American criminal justice system through the lens of parole, will be given away while supplies last.

This in-person event is free and open to the public. Learn more at https://www.facebook.com/share/19jkf77LWf/
