Stories of Transformation 2024

Restore Justice Event Header
This event is presented by Illinois Humanities grantee partner Restore Justice.

At Restore Justice’s 8th annual Stories of Transformation luncheon event, you will get to know some of the people who have benefited from recent changes in Illinois law.

Last year, people sentenced as children and young adults received the first opportunity to come home on parole since it was abolished in 1978.

You will have the chance to experience the impact of legislation Restore Justice has supported through firsthand accounts of people for whom it has created new opportunities for transformation.

About Restore Justice

Restore Justice advocates for fairness, humanity, and compassion throughout the Illinois criminal legal system, with a primary focus on those affected by extreme sentences as youth.

Restore Justice creates and supports policies that allow those who are rehabilitated to go home, and that ensure those incarcerated, their families, and victim families have opportunities for healing and justice. We engage people who are currently and formerly incarcerated and their loved ones, victims and their families, communities, and concerned Illinoisans in advocacy and service within the criminal legal system.
