Every summer around the world, cicadas emerge from their underground slumber to fill the trees with their vibrating sounds. This summer, our area will experience the arrival of a very special and particularly large group of periodical cicadas known as Brood X.
Inspired by this extraordinary natural phenomenon, "Metamorphosis: Emerging from the Dark" explores the themes of transformation, rebirth, and the journey from darkness to light.
As these creatures emerge from having spent their entire lives in the darkness of the soil and climb into the light to finally spread their newfound wings, the exhibition features the work of artists who are exploring their own narratives of emerging from challenging times, overcoming obstacles, and embracing newfound light and possibilities.
